The University aims to reach this milestone by transitioning from conventional to green power, promoting sustainable transportation, minimizing waste, increasing tree plantation, using technology like carbon capture and storage and engaging the entire university community in the effort to create a sustainable future. The University is committed to making its buildings energy effcient and seeking green ratings. As a research-intensive university, JGU will continue to advance research on climate change mitigation measures and sustainability solutions. JGU will collaborate with experts and regularly monitor progress to reach net zero by 2035, while fulfilling all social and economic needs of the University community.
