About OCS

The Office of Career Services (OCS) at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, is a dedicated department that facilitates industry-academia connect for nurturing meaningful relationships while creating platforms for internships, employment, and other aspirational opportunities for the student community of JGU. The OCS provides support towards aspiration understanding through career counselling, imparting soft skills training to students and offering platforms for exploring career pathways.

The OCS actively collaborates across sectors with various industry partners, alumni, and faculty members to enhance the employability and career prospects of students. It aims to prepare students for the global market and help them achieve their professional goals.

The OCS offers a range of support functions and acts as an enabler to assist students in their career journey. Apart from sourcing internship and placement opportunities, some of the other key tasks facilitated by OCS include:

  • Bringing industry into the classroom: The OCS organizes guest lectures by eminent speakers from different sectors and domains, who share their insights and experiences with the students. These guest lectures help the students learn from the experts, gain exposure to diverse fields and industries, and interact with potential employers and mentors.
  • Training and Development Program: The OCS conducts the Training and Development Program for the students, which is a comprehensive and customized training programmes that covers various aspects of employability, such as communication skills, aptitude skills, personality development, resume writing, interview skills, group discussion skills, and more. The program helps the students improve their employability quotient and prepares them for the recruitment process.
  • MoUs: The OCS is instrumental in formalizing relationships with the industry and engaging with them throughout the year in multiple ways. Such relationships bring joint events and workshops for the students, apart from providing networking opportunities.

 

The OCS strives to create a conducive and collaborative environment for students to explore their interests, passions, and aspirations, and to achieve their full potential in their chosen fields.
