Expanding Community Engagement through Outreach and Partnerships
JGU is dedicated to extending the benefits of learning far beyond its own student body, actively partnering with schools, NGOs, and regional stakeholders to address a wide range of local and regional needs. University-led legal aid clinics offer reliable support on issues from land rights to social welfare, while school-level sustainability workshops help young students develop a foundational understanding of environmental stewardship. Digital literacy camps and rural leadership training are organized to empower vulnerable communities and bridge educational divides.
Innovative Community and Youth Initiatives
In 2025, JGU expanded partnerships for legal empowerment with grassroots NGOs, helping to deliver accessible legal advice, awareness campaigns, and rights education to underserved populations. New eco-literacy collaborations have deepened engagement with regional school networks, promoting climate action and sustainability from an early age, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
Cross-Cultural Learning: Creative Writing with Afghan Refugee Youth
A highlight of JGU’s recent work is the “Aaghaaz” creative writing workshop, where JGU’s Centre for Afghanistan Studies, Simurgh Centre (New Delhi), Max Mueller Bhavan, and Jindal School of International Affairs joined forces to support both local and Afghan refugee youth. The workshop created a bridge across cultures by pairing JGU students with young Afghan participants for collaborative literary exercises and discussions. The initiative emphasized shared exploration of themes like youth, identity, and community, with writing produced in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Urdu, Pashto, and Dari. This event provided a rare, transformative forum for expression and empathy enriching participants’ global awareness and celebrating diversity through prose and poetry.
Recognizing Participation and Fostering Inclusion
Participants in community events and international workshops including “Aaghaaz” are honored with certificates of recognition. These experiences foster cross-cultural literacy, mutual respect, and a tradition of giving back, key values in JGU’s education model.
