Public Access to Spaces

JGU offers access to visitors from both local communities and international delegations, welcoming them to explore our lush green campus situated in Sonipat, replete with academically, culturally and socially enriching programmes and facilities. We encourage these experiences through thoughtfully designed experiences that nurture a sense of community and knowledge exchange.

Access to sports facilities: Throughout history, sport has been a powerful medium to foster resilience, discipline, teamwork, and well-being. It unites communities, promotes mental and physical health, and builds a shared sense of purpose. We invite our staff members to extend the membership opportunity for the Naveen Jindal Sports Academy to their dependents through a systematic process. Members are able to access designated facilities within the Sports Academy during specific time slots allocated to different user groups. These timings are designed to ensure fair and optimal use of the facilities by all members of the JGU community.

Alumni gatherings: JGU hosts an annual Alumni Day, inviting our alumni body from all over the world to visit our campus and explore our academic, dining, sports, and residential facilities.

Cultural events: During our annual cultural festivals, we welcome our faculty and staff members to bring their own guests and experience the range of rich, diverse and creative festivities hosted in the JGU campus.

Childcare facilities: To support mothers in our community, the JGU campus has a crèche facility called ‘LEAP’ within the campus, featuring toys and curated facilities designed for holistic development of children, creating a comfortable and safe environment.

Guided tours for school students: JGU collaborates with schools in the local community to facilitate tours for young students, providing them an opportunity to explore our campus, including the green spaces, sports facilities, dining areas and more. We regularly host a large number of interested students and their families for campus visits. As part of these thoughtfully planned half-day long guided tours, we encourage schools in Delhi-NCR and nearby cities to bring their students to visit India’s First and Only Constitution Academy situated within the JGU campus.

Hosting international visitors: JGU is happy to welcome academics and scholars from around the world throughout the year to explore our educational facilities and interact with our community. We host international students as part of our semester exchange programmes, India Immersion Programme and research internships. JGU has also created the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship with a view to promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and academic growth among young Ph.D. scholars and faculty members. This one-year fellowship is designed to host and cultivate a dynamic intellectual environment for researchers from diverse disciplines across the globe. All fellows as part of this programme get access to our extensive libraries and other valuable resources to foster high-quality research.

Shared sports events: JGU regularly extends invitations to external organisations to engage in sports activities and events alongside our own students. This collaborative approach allows for a more inclusive and enriching sports experience for all involved. Magnus is JGU’s annual sports competition with thousands of students from all over India participating in various sports activities. JGU has regular practice matches with other local institutions/universities including the Sonipat Sports Club, Jamia University, Sonipat Kabaddi Academy and Ashoka University.
