Flexible Work Policy

Work flexibility for academic staff:

JGU respects that our academic staff members may at times work from home or at alternative work locations, depending on their teaching, research and professional commitments. We do not enforce a minimum daily working hours policy for our academic staff and allow them to work remotely outside of their class hours and designated office hours due to this reason.

Additionally, a staff development leave of up to 21 days is permitted for attending conferences. To promote high-quality research and knowledge exchange, any regular academic staff members is eligible to attend research-related events, including national and international conferences for a maximum of 5 times in a financial year, which will lead to Scopus-Indexed publications in the form of articles/books/book chapter, as mentioned in our “Staff Development Policy”.

Work flexibility for administrative staff

As per guidelines described in our “Recording of Attendance” Policy, the normal working hours for a majority of our administrative offices are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Our administrative staff members are required to be present on campus for a minimum of 8.5 hours, with the core working hours being between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

We allow flexibility to individual administrative departments in their start and finish times (within set parameters), depending on the unique administrative function and requirements. To accommodate this, employees can avail flexible working hours between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm with the approval of their reporting office/HOD/Dean.

Work flexibility for TRIP Fellows and Academic Tutors

In case any TRIP Fellow & Academic Tutor is required to be on out station duty for research purposes, they can take prior permission from their supervisor.
