This programme provides learners with a specialized focus on transactions, markets, and local and global regulatory issues. Examination
The examination, grading, assessment and all aspects of course evaluation including assignments, coursework and end-semester examinations are undertaken by JGLS and have been designed keeping in mind the need to enhance the professional skill set of the students.
Degree Awarded
The degree awarded to every student who has duly completed the academic credits will be from JGU, which has been recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India as an “Institution of Eminence”.

What Makes It Different

These LL.M. programmes are governed by the UGC’s One Year LL.M. Guidelines to the letter and should not be confused with an online, part-time, or remote learning programme. These programmes are being conducted under the aegis of the Centre for Post-Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) of JGU and admission to the LL.M. programmes are granted after the completion of an all-India admission test such as the JSAT, CLAT-PG, LNAT-UK, etc. Each of the said LL.M. programmes comprise of 24 credits with three compulsory courses of 3 credits each (namely, Comparative Public Law, Law & Justice in the Globalizing World, and Legal Research Methodology), six specialised courses of 2 credits each, and a dissertation of 3 credits.

The LL.M. programmes are JGU-run programmes and upGrad Education Private Limited (upGrad) facilitates the delivery of the programme through technological interface. These programmes are offered to JGU students in a blended learning mode and are powered by a robust user interface.
The courses are taught by JGLS faculty members who have advanced degrees from the leading universities around the world such as Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of London and New York University.

Emphasis on Experiential Learning

The one-year duration of the LL.M. programmes is divided into three trimesters, with a minimum of 30 hours of learning time in each week and 12 weeks for each of the three terms including teaching hours, library work, and research hours. The courses of the LL.M. programmes follow a continuous assessment/evaluation component as well as an end-term examination period at the end of every trimester.
