JGU is unwavering in its resolve to eliminate all forms of discrimination and promote a campus culture rooted in fairness, respect, and equality. To strengthen these efforts, we have re-constituted the Anti-Discrimination Committee, a dedicated body tasked with ensuring that every member of our community—students, faculty, and staff—experiences an environment free from bias or prejudice.
Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC)
The Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) oversees initiatives to prevent discrimination based on gender, race, caste, marital or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, religion or belief, age, or disability. Beyond prevention, the ADC advises on and implements policies and programs that advance diversity, equality, inclusion, and human rights across JGU’s campus.
The ADC operates with a clear mandate:
Oversee measures to prevent discrimination on campus based on gender, race, caste, marital or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, religion or belief, age, or disability.
Establish and manage an online portal for lodging discrimination complaints from the JGU community.
Investigate complaints, including those related to SC/ST students, teachers, or non-teaching staff, as well as other prohibited grounds, and make informed decisions.
Monitor the resolution of all discrimination-related complaints and ensure timely action.
Develop and maintain a policy framework to prevent discrimination, alongside educational and awareness initiatives to combat bias and promote integration.
Recommend proactive measures to enhance substantive equality across the university.
Periodicity of Meetings
The Committee convenes at least once per semester, with additional meetings as needed to address emerging concerns promptly.
JGU’s Anti-Discrimination Policy outlines our institutional stance against all forms of bias and provides a framework for reporting, addressing, and resolving incidents
Reporting Discrimination
Members of the JGU community can report discrimination through the ADC’s forthcoming online portal or by contacting the Member Secretary, Prof. Ajay Kumar Pandey. All complaints are handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and a commitment to justice.
Our Pledge
Through the Anti-Discrimination Committee and its associated policies, JGU reaffirms its dedication to building a campus where diversity is celebrated, and every individual is treated with dignity. We invite our community to partner with us in upholding these values and fostering an environment of mutual respect.
