
Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) conducted the JIBS Winter School 2025 from December 15 to 19. The programme brought together bright minds from diverse disciplines across India under the theme ‘Technology, Behaviour and Belonging: Designing Inclusive Futures’.
Over five days, participants engaged in interactive discussions on topics such as the role of social media in self-perception, intersectionality and mental health, cyber-crime awareness, mindful use of artificial intelligence (AI), adolescent well-being, talent management, career pathways in psychology, and the relevance of indigenous knowledge systems.
CCMH organises Faculty Development Programme
The Centre for Community Mental Health (CCMH) at JIBS conducted a seven-day virtual Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from December 1 to 7. The programme, inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Pulkit Khanna, Dean, JIBS & Director of CCMH, had more than 40 participants from across India representing a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds.
The FDP focused on the theme 'From Awareness to Action: Behavioural Science Approaches to Achieving the SDGs' and highlighted how principles from behavioural science can support progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each session addressed a specific SDG and demonstrated how behavioural insights can strengthen efforts in areas such as gender equality, inclusive education, responsible consumption, climate action, and peace and justice.
The sessions were led by faculty experts from JIBS, including Dr. Vasundharaa Santhosh Nair, Assistant Professor; Dr. Vernon Dmello, Assistant Professor; Dr. Finita Roy, Associate Professor; Dr. Dahunlyne Shylla, Assistant Professor; Dr. Aasim Ur Rehman, Assistant Professor; Ms. Maria Zafar, Lecturer; and Ms. Sonia Rani, Lecturer and Special Educator.
The discussions offered practical strategies for applying behavioural approaches in teaching, research, policy, and community engagement. The FDP also emphasised the role of intergroup solidarity, sustainable well-being, and social determinants of health in shaping equitable development.
Third session of Mind Matters Series
JIBS, in collaboration with the Office of Doctoral Studies (ODS), JGU, and the STAR Scholars Network, hosted the third session of 'Mind Matters: Wellness for Doctoral Scholars' on December 3. The session was conducted on JGU campus for the research scholars attending the PhD Residency.
This session, led by Prof. (Dr.) Pulkit Khanna, Dean, JIBS, focused on 'Building Supportive Academic Relationships'. The interactive session aimed at initiating simple conversation among research scholars at JGU to create gentle spaces that bring conversations of compassion, care, and community to the mainstream.
