JGU Literary & Fine Arts Society hosts Author Talk

In February, the JGU Literary & Fine Arts Society (Litsoc) organised an Author Talk featuring critically acclaimed authors Manjima Misra and Deepa Agarwal. The session, moderated by Sania Bafna and Khushali Shah, directors of JGU Book Club, explored the themes of love, loss, mental health, identity, and the power of storytelling.

Manjima Misra's book The Ocean is Her Title delves into identity and autonomy through the lens of magical realism, weaving poetic prose with deep introspection. In contrast, The Arthashastra for Children by Deepa Agarwal makes Kautilya's ancient wisdom accessible to young readers, drawing connections to modern governance and geopolitics.

The event saw an enthusiastic response from students, reinforcing the importance of literary dialogue in an academic space.

Under the leadership of Ishna Shah, President of Litsoc, the society continues to foster a thriving literary culture on campus. This collaboration between Litsoc and the Book Club provided students with a platform to engage in meaningful discussions and connect with literature beyond the classroom. With initiatives like these, Litsoc remains dedicated to curating thought-provoking discussions and enriching experiences for the JGU literary community.
