On the 16th University Day on September 30, JGU released the 'Research at JGU 2025 Report'. Mr Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa of India, released the report during the special interaction on 'The India Story, Brand India' at the JGU campus.
The report offers a comprehensive analysis of the research output of the JGU, while highlighting the major research accomplishments of the university's researchers. The report focuses primarily on 2024, while also tracing the broader trajectory of the university's research performance since its inception in 2009. It evaluates key dimensions of research at JGU, including publications, grants, and impact as measured through academic and policy citations, publications in top citation percentiles and journal quartiles, and collaborations with stakeholders within and beyond academia. It also provides an insightful analysis of the alignment between JGU's research and the Sustainable Development Goals. These findings are measured against globally recognised research metrics.
Beyond being featured in top journal quartiles, JGU's research is making significant strides in the global policy impact arena. JGU's research publications are cited by leading national and international policy bodies, including UNESCO, UNICEF, UNCTAD, WHO, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank. These policy citations underscore the transformative potential of research emerging from JGU's various schools, institutes, and research centres to effect positive change vis-à-vis important issues of contemporary global relevance.
