Prof. Shachi Seth

Lecturer

Shachi Seth is a trans-disciplinary researcher, interested in production and consumption of nations, lores of the state, the magic of science and religion, and the active and passive life of cities and spaces. Her training has led her through the disciplinary domains of Economics, Development Studies, and Sociology.

In her MPhil thesis submitted at DSE, she has studied the transformations of the Indian economic state and Indian nationalisms through the lens of Swadeshi in popular media.

She has previously worked on various policy projects on food, planning, participation and justice, in Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Through teaching writing, she discovers alternative routes through which texts and disciplines reveal themselves, and the way selves mediate narratives.
