JSGP holds Jindal Policy Conclave

Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) held the Jindal Policy Conclave 2025 in September. Conceptualised and executed by JSGP students, the two-day conclave held on September 19 and 20 explored the theme 'The Inception of Ideas for Viksit Bharat' and brought together 35 distinguished policymakers, scholars and changemakers.

The conclave featured panels and a plenary that addressed key areas of public policy, including discussions on electoral reforms, climate resilience, urban governance and women's leadership in public life. The plenary on media and regulation examined the power of narratives in shaping public opinion. Subsequent dialogues explored the aspirations of India's middle class, evolving defence strategies, social justice, and pathways to universal healthcare.

Inaugurating the conclave, Mr. Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister, highlighted the importance of preserving India's democratic ethos while navigating an increasingly complex global landscape. He urged the youth to uphold constitutional values and strive for a self-reliant India.

Former Chief Justice of India, Justice U.U. Lalit, in his keynote address, described the Constitution and the Directive Principles as India's living moral compass, inspiring future policymakers to anchor reform in equity and justice. In the Valedictory Address, Mr. Armstrong Pame, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, shared his experience of building the People's Road in Manipur, and encouraged students to show empathy and perseverance, and discharge their civic responsibilities.

Overall, the conclave reaffirmed the power of youth-driven dialogue to shape a just, resilient and developed India by 2047 when the country will celebrate a century of independence.
