JGU, University of Delhi join hands to host 74th annual All India Commerce Conference

JGU and Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, joined hands to host the 74th annual All India Commerce Conference (AICC) of Indian Commerce Association during December 13-15. The conference, held at the campuses of both universities, was attended by more than 2,500 delegates from different parts of India and abroad.

The inaugural session featured Mr Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt. Governor of Delhi, as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, presided over the opening. Mr Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor of Haryana, was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session.

The overarching theme of the 74th AICC was “One Earth-One Family-One Future”, with parallel sessions addressing various themes such as the National Education Policy 2020’s impact on commerce & management education, business transformation in the digital economy, the evolution from industry 4.0 to industry 5.0, entrepreneurship, innovation, start-ups, Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and empirical research in the world economy, among others.

Highlighting the conference’s importance in aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, emphasised the role of institutions in empowering Indian youth through commerce and management education.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Professor at Delhi School of Economics, stressed the significance of the collaboration between University of Delhi and JGU in hosting this conference.
