JGU celebrates Japan Month 2025

With the aim to strengthen India-Japan ties, JGU celebrated September-October as Japan Month in India. As part of Japan Month celebrations at JGU, Jindal School of International Affairs hosted the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chair Lecture by Professor Akio Takahara, Professor Emeritus, University of Tokyo, along with other leading Japanese scholars, at JGU campus on September 15.

JGU has always viewed Japan as an integral partner to strengthen its global footprint and to reaffirm its commitment to excellence, innovation and international collaboration. Over the years, JGU has engaged with prestigious universities and institutions and leading scholars of Japan to advance academic diplomacy and global engagement between India and Japan.

In June 2025, a high-level JGU delegation visited Japan and held dialogues in Tokyo and Kyoto to strengthen India-Japan collaborations in higher education. This session reflected JGU's continued commitment to be a globally connected university that champions academic excellence, meaningful collaboration, impactful research, democratic values, and sustainable development.
