Diksha Narang is a lecturer at the Centre for Writing Studies where she teaches academic reading and writing. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Department of Sociology, South Asian University where she previously submitted her MPhil thesis. Her PhD focuses on everyday economy in responses to social crisis and marginality. She explores concepts such as wage, gift, charity and welfare to understand local infrastructures of social protection. Her fieldwork is in rural Rajasthan among formerly itinerant communities as they transition towards wage-earning and labor migration in agriculture, construction and mining worksites. She is interested in understanding the intimate worlds such as self, family and community of precarious labor and landscapes of poverty.
