Centre for Writing Studies Listening Session
In the recent edition of the Centre for Writing Studies (CWS) Listening Session series held in hybrid mode on April 26 and curated by Dr. Shubhasree Bhattacharyya, Dr. Sebanti Chatterjee, Assistant Professor at SRM University, Amravati, spoke to JGU students on Anthropology of Sound in relation to her field work. The Listening Session series, started in 2019, forms an integral part of the CWS cross-listed elective ‘Writing Sounds: Arts Practice and Research in Sound and Listening’. Academics and artists from across the world have contributed to these series. The sessions provided students with new sounds to listen to and new methods for working with arts and research projects on Sound and Listening.
Academic Writing Workshop
Dr. Shivani Kapoor conducted an online workshop on ‘Introduction to Academic Writing’ for the students of MA International Relations, Security and Strategy. Around 20 students, located around the world, attended the two-hour workshop that discussed the basics of academic writing and reading, with an emphasis on writing summaries and analysis.
