Blended Learning Programme

O.P. Jindal Global [Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University] (JGU) offers the following LL.M. programmes: 

  • Corporate & Financial Law (Blended Learning Programme)
  • Intellectual Property & Technology Law (Blended Learning Programme)
  • Dispute Resolution (Blended Learning Programme)

The LL.M. programmes provide learners with a specialised focus on dynamic markets, global regulatory issues, the socio-economic impact of IP and technology on emerging markets and the full range of dispute settlement laws and procedures. The LL.M. programmes aim to meet the demands of the 21st century as it is imperative that legal professionals stay abreast with the ever-evolving legal profession. These LL.M. programmes bring a holistically designed curriculum, using elements of theoretical knowledge and practical insights with interdisciplinarity at its core.

The distinct features of the LL.M. programmes are set out below: 

  • A cutting-edge curriculum that is formulated by the faculty members of the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS).
  • The course structure and the programme outcomes are benchmarked with the best of the international practices and global legal education approaches with a view to promoting excellence in legal education.
  • The teaching of all courses is entirely undertaken by the outstanding faculty members of JGLS including many accomplished practitioners and prolific researchers who are fully responsible for the development of the teaching pedagogies associated with the expected learning outcomes.
  • The examination, grading, assessment and all aspects of course evaluation including assignments, coursework and end-semester examinations are undertaken by JGLS and have been designed keeping in mind the need to enhance the professional skill set of the students.
  • The degree awarded to every student who has duly completed the academic credits will be from JGU, which has been recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India as an “Institution of Eminence”.

These LL.M. programmes are governed by the UGC’s One Year LL.M. Guidelines to the letter and should not be confused with an online, part-time, or remote learning programme. These programmes are being conducted under the aegis of the Centre for Post-Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) of JGU and admission to the LL.M. programmes are granted after the completion of an all-India admission test such as the JSAT, CLAT-PG, LSAT-India, etc. Each of the said LL.M. programmes comprise of 24 credits with three compulsory courses of 3 credits each (namely, Comparative Public Law, Law & Justice in the Globalizing World, and Legal Research Methodology), six specialised courses of 2 credits each, and a dissertation of 3 credits. The one-year duration of the LL.M. programmes is divided into three trimesters, with a minimum of 30 hours of learning time in each week and 12 weeks for each of the three terms including teaching hours, library work, and research hours. The courses of the LL.M. programmes follow a continuous assessment/evaluation component as well as an end-term examination period at the end of every trimester. 

The LL.M. programmes are JGU-run programmes and Upgrad Education Private Limited (upGrad) facilitates the delivery of the programme through technological interface. These programmes are offered to JGU students in a blended learning mode and are powered by a robust user interface. 

The courses in each of these programmes are taught by JGLS faculty members who have advanced degrees from the leading universities around the world such as Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of London and New York University. Faculty members also invite industry professionals as guest lecturers, to increase the exposure and opportunities for the students. Many of the graduates of the LL.M. programmes are working professionals in the litigation sector, corporate lawyers, LAMP fellows, in-house lawyers, etc. who have benefitted from our teaching pedagogy and have advanced in their respective careers.
