In this new era of pandemic threat, hearing from young minds is essential to understand the problem at the grassroots level and for building an effective localised response to COVID-19.
#JSBF4COVID19 is a virtual challenge for students completing 12th standard in 2020 from any part of India. This competition is to find some of the best local responses to COVID-19 from the real change-makers in India!
Participants of the shortlisted entries will be invited to make a final pitch & WIN BIG PRIZES!
As a participant, you will assume the role of a Consultant hired by the Office of the Prime Minister of India to monitor and improve the COVID-19 situation in your locality. Follow the steps below and answer the following questions in preparing your plan/idea:
Identify ONE important business entity or working group that is impacted by the pandemic in your locality. You can consider local schools & colleges, local groceries/kirana stores, domestic service providers & household help, local clinics & hospitals, local factories & manufacturing units, local agriculture & farming community, salaried employees in private & government offices, family-run businesses etc.
Identify the most important challenges they might be facing during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can consider adverse impact on education, job loss, lack of transportation, lack of medicines & medical facilities, cash crunch etc.
Recommend ONE innovative and ethically responsible solution to help solve the problem(s) you have identified in the step 2.
Be creative, be specific and do not repeat what is already available in media.
*JSBF/JGU faculty will hold an online workshop and feedback session between 22nd and 23rd May 2020 to answer any question related to this competition. The final date and time of this session will be communicated in due course.
