Competition

Narsee Monjee Competition – Few of our students participated in the event – Arthashastra 2021, hosted by Narsee Monjee College of Commerce, Mumbai. This event was comprised of several competitions in which students from colleges from all over India participated. It has been one of the greatest exposures for all the participants as it helped the students in enhancing their knowledge, polish their communication and interpersonal skills. Some of our students also scored winning positions in some of the events.

Meet our winners:

  1. Prabhav Tomar and Ishan Sharma- 1st position in competition- ‘A Seedy
  2. Shivika Gupta – 2nd runner-up in competition- ‘The Good
  3. Yuvraj Singh and Myra Sharma – 1st position in the ‘War of Contingent Leaders’

Testimonials of our Contingent Leaders:

Yuvraj Singh:

The best way to learn something is to experience them. I feel that participating in the Narsee Monjee Competition was the best decision I had ever made in the Covid semester. On the one hand, where education has been restricted to online teaching, we still lack practical exposure to those theories. I feel so happy that this competition gave me a chance to experience the practical knowledge of all the theories taught to me in college. The event was one of a kind as it was solely based on the financial market. I was luckily appointed as the Contingent leader for our college and took the leadership of managing all the participants during the event. I didn’t just learn about finance but also sharpened my leadership quality. I believe everyone should participate in such events and get to experience them for a better understanding of the topics taught to them and to apply them in the real world.

Myra Sharma:

Participating in the Narsee Monjee Competition gave me practical knowledge about how things work in the actual financial market. All the events were designed in a very fun learning manner. I was appointed as the Assistant Contingent Leader (ACL) which was an overall experience of managing great events and it provided me a better understanding of leadership. Therefore, such events should be held frequently to enhance the practical knowledge of the students because  due to this COVID semester we are unable to get that practical knowledge, but these competitions are the best source to gain knowledge. I believe that JSBF not only gave me this golden opportunity to participate in this event but also in the future would also help me in organizing events in JSBF keeping in mind the events of Narsee Monjee. At last, I would like to thank all the faculty members for supporting us throughout the event and especially Professor Himank and Ayushi for being so helpful all the time.
