Programme Curriculum: B.Com. (Hons.) Programme

The B. Com Honours programme curriculum comprises of both core and elective courses. The core courses such as Financial Mathematics, Corporate Finance, Financial Technology, Law, Accounting, Economics and Statistics are firmly formed part of the B. Com course curriculum. Each of these courses being taught at JSBF would engage the students in the practices of enquiry, contemplation and analysis of practical business problems. The practices are considered necessary for the creation of knowledge and understanding in the fields of finance, accounting, law and technology. Similarly, the elective courses comprise of allied fields relating to the core courses.

Our teaching methods provide students with a strong foundation in the subject matter fostering in-depth learning of the concepts thereby empowering them to deal with current day globalised world and make them industry ready. These methods include critical thinking; real life business case-solving; building professional certifications (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), NSE Academy Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM); skill-based training on analytical tools such as R, Python, Tableau and MS Excel.

For a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) at Jindal School of Banking and Finance, students must complete at least 144 credits to graduate which are covered in the following sub-sections:

  • Core Courses- 94 Credits
  • Cross-listed electives – 50 Credits (includes 8 credits for voluntary Independent Research Project, Research Internships or Industry internships).
