JGU celebrates India’s 77th Independence Day

JGU celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day on the University campus on August 15. The Chief Guest at the event was H.E. Mr. Denis Alipov, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Vikas Gupta, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Bodies & Chief Executive Officer, Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority, Government of Haryana.

Professor (Dr.) Upasana Mahanta, Dean, Admissions and Outreach, JGU, made introductory remarks on the occasion. Professor Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, Registrar, JGU, delivered the welcome address. Professor R. Sudarshan, Dean, Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, spoke about the significance of the Independence Day celebrations. It was followed by an address by Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, JGU.
