Vineet has over 25 years of experience across institutional and investment banking.

Starting his career as an equity analyst at Peregrine Capital, he moved to Bank of America after 2 years. He spent 16 years in Bank of America in the Debt Products Group ending as MD and Country Portfolio Manager for India, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. In that role he also managed the transition of the risk organization during the 2008 financial crisis and the subsequent merger with Merrill Lynch. In his next role with IDFC he managed the resolution of a large portfolio of stressed assets in the Indian infrastructure sector, while also representing the risk organisation in the project for converting to a bank. He joined Westpac Banking Corp as Chief Risk Officer for India before moving to Singapore where he took on a variety of roles including that of the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Credit Officer for Westpac Asia.

His transition to academia is motivated by a desire to make the learning of management fundamentals more relatable and applicable for students by enriching the classroom with real world situations and experience. Some areas that he would like to research are the balance between quantitative and qualitative approaches to risk management, and the intersection of finance with strategy.

Vineet enjoys listening to Sufi music, and likes to read about how history, genetics, and evolutionary biology have shaped society.
