Biography

Prof. (Dr.) Asim Talukdar is currently a professor of human resource management and organizational behaviour (HR & OB) at Jindal Global Business School, O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University). Dr. Talukdar holds a BSc (Honors in Chemistry) degree from Calcutta University, a PGDM (MBA) degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC), and he is a Fellow in Management (Ph.D.) from XLRI, Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, India. Before joining Jindal Global Business School, he held a visiting faculty position at IMT, Ghaziabad. He has over 13 years of academic experience, both in teaching and research, and 33 years of industry experience. His research interests include Strategic Human Resource Management, Employee Engagement, Green HRM Performance Management, Compensation Management, Knowledge Management, and sustainability

His work has been published in international journals like the Journal of Knowledge Management, the International Journal of Manpower, and the International Journal of Logistics Management. IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Management Research Review, Journal of Information & Knowledge Management, and Knowledge and Process Management. Journal for International Business and Entrepreneurship Development, Journal for Global Business Advancement, and also in the Indian Journal of Industrial Relations. Two of Dr. Talukdar’s research papers received the “Best Paper” award at two international conferences. He was conferred with the award. He was a recipient of the Rasbic Award for “Best in Class in Recruitment” in 2006.

Dr. Talukdar has extensive consultancy experience with several reputed MNCs, including PepsiCo India and J. Mitra & Co. Pvt. Ltd., as well as with several public-sector organizations in India, including RITES, NTPC, and ONGC. 

Dr. Talukdar has more than 33 years of industry experience. He worked in the top leadership team of three large organizations in India, namely NIIT Ltd, HT Media, and Maruti Suzuki Ltd., as Head of Human Resource Management. Besides, he held senior HR leadership roles at Whirlpool of India, PepsiCo India, Britannia Industries Ltd., and BOC (India) Ltd. His experience is primarily in Organizational transformations & Change Management and Strategic Human Resource Management.

Dr. Talukdar is a Fellow of the Academy of Global Business Advancement, USA.
