Dr. Sheldon Carvalho is an Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Management area at Jindal Global Business School. He completed his Masters in Business Administration Research (MS BAR) and, subsequently, obtained a Ph.D. in Management at ESSEC Business School, France.
As someone who identifies with the learning and development (L&D) community, his research interests focus on four broad areas of research on employee L&D, namely, what are the necessary ingredients for stimulating development in individuals (e.g., challenging job experience, manager as coach, e-learning), what individuals proactively could do at work to learn and grow (e.g., proactive feedback inquiry), what are the indicators that show that an individual is indeed developing (e.g., change in identity, self-awareness, sense of self-efficacy), and what contextual or situational factors enhance or impede experienced-based development (e.g., climate for learning). To this end, he has presented papers at international conferences such as the annual meetings of the Academy of Management and Asia Academy of Management respectively.
He is an academic member of the Academy of Management (OB and HRM Divisions) and the Asia Academy of Management.
