Centre for Development Studies (CDS)
The CDS aims to serve as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach. Its focus will be on addressing critical developmental challenges in India and other South Asian countries. It would act as a hub, bringing together faculty and students from diverse fields – economics, law, public policy, environmental studies, business, gender studies, and others – to tackle complex challenges facing the world today.
The CDS aims to bridge the gap between development issues and the world of business. It will explore innovative approaches, sustainable business models, and ethical practices. This focus on the intersection of business and development will examine how businesses can be a force for positive change in developing economies and societies.
The CDS will focus on a range of critical areas, including but not limited to:
- Sustainable development practices
- The role of business in poverty alleviation and social justice
- Gender equality and women’s empowerment as drivers of inclusive development
