Examination Procedures

Before Examination

The Examination Schedule can be found by clicking End Term Examination Schedule. When accessing the Examination Schedule, please read and note the details carefully, especially the examination dates and timings. Please note that no application for change of examinations is entertained.

Examination venues are communicated to students on their JGU email ID one day before the examination. If you have any doubt as to the location of your venue, please refer to the general layout of classrooms, which can be found here.

If you have any questions, or have not received the email regarding venues, please follow up at exam@jgu.edu.in

You are requested to please manage your email settings so that Examinations Office emails are received in your Inbox, and not diverted to other spam folders, such as Clutter.

In the event of debarment, students will receive an email from the Examinations Office before the scheduled start of examinations. If any further details or clarification on attendance policies are sought, students may contact the relevant school Administrative Office.

To assist you in your preparation, the past years’ question papers can be accessed through D-space. The papers are organised according to semester.

During Examination
Students are instructed to strictly abide by the general guidelines for student conduct during examinations, contained in the Student Guidelines.

  • Students must arrive 10 minutes before the start of the examination, and check the seating plan, posted outside the examination venue. If a student’s name does not appear in the seating plan, the student should immediately proceed to the Examinations Office. Students are required to sit at the desk which has the Student ID No. on it, and keep their Student ID card out. If the student does not have their ID card, they are requested to report to the Examinations Office immediately. No student will be allowed to write an examination without their ID card.
  • Students may not enter the examination venue 15 minutes after the start of an examination, or leave 15 before the end of the examination. If the student is delayed to the examination venue, they must first report to the Examinations Office, where they will be allowed to proceed to the examination venue only upon the showing of extenuating circumstances. No extra time will be allowed under any circumstances.
  • Students must not carry any mobile phone, smart watch, mp3 players, or other technological gadget with them. Calculators are allowed where the examination specifies. Strict action will be taken against a student found with a prohibited device. After Examination
Examination results are released within 30 – 45 days after the last examination for the programme. Students’ results within the above timeframe are emailed to their respective JGU email ID.

Around the time of declaring results, the Examinations Office will invite applications to view answer books. Students may apply by filling out the relevant form End Term Answer Script View Form and/or Re-Sit/Improvement Answer Script View Form. No late requests will be entertained.

Once the upcoming semester session begins, the Examinations Office will also invite applications for re-evaluation/re-totaling just after closure of seeing of the answer books. Students may apply by filling out the relevant form and making the necessary fees payment Re-Evaluation Form for End Term and Re-Totaling Form for End Term and/or Re-Evaluation Form for Re-Sit/Improvement and Re-Totaling Form for Re-Sit/Improvement. No late requests will be entertained.The fees for re-totaling are Rs. 250 per paper.
