She has an active and productive profile of research, with experience in writing independent project proposals and publications in international journals. Her doctoral research explored the impact of the affective environment on cognitive and motor processes in children with Tourette’s Syndrome. Utilizing high-density quantitative EEG, her work revealed critical insights into the emotional regulation challenges faced by these children and the influence of their primary caregivers. Her postdoctoral research explored the role of social anxiety in young adults with problematic internet use by studying the event-related potential (ERP) changes during a social judgment task. The study also investigated the possibility of training individuals with problematic internet use through Neuro-feedback training (NFT) to enhance their social-cognitive functioning. Additionally, she worked on the cognitive profiling of patients with major depressive disorder and psychosis. She has worked and developed an emotion recognition toolbox using facial images and emotion laden sentences.

Her commitment as a teacher fuels the passion and curiosity of students by providing them the intellectual tools to be independent thinkers. Her approach is informed by many great teachers as well as the colleagues and students that she had the opportunity to interact with over the years.
