As an avid student as well as teacher, Neus Gimeno holds three M.A. degrees (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Menéndez Pelayo International University (2021), Audiovisual Translation: Localization, Subtitling and Dubbing from Cádiz University (2017) and Translation and Interpretation Studies from Universtitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2010)), as well as extensive in-depth language acquisition training courses. She has also studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Spanish Editing and Proofreading from Menéndez Pelayo International University (2018).
Apart from studying in Spain, Neus has been an international student at Bishop’s University, Canada (2005) and Cologne University of Applied Sciences (2007-2008) during her first M.A. degree. She has been granted scholarships to take part in the Summer School of the University of Vienna (2012) and in the professional training courses organized by the Center for Rural Development, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany in four cycles (2011, 2013, 2014, 2016). Neus has also joined community service trips organized by both government and non-government organizations to Thailand (2013), Taiwan (2012) and Algeria (2008).
Driven by a commitment to diversity and inclusion, her professional experience spans interpreting, translation, and project management for NGOs, as well as teaching language and literature in both Indian and international organizations from the private and public sectors. Neus taught all levels offered by Instituto Cervantes (New Delhi), in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (A1 to C1), from 2014 to 2019, and is also an official DELE examiner (A1 to C2 levels). She was a recipient of the International Visiting Faculty Fellowship Program of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC-AECID) for Jawaharlal Nehru University (2019–2022), where she expanded her teaching methodology and focused her latest master’s thesis research on democratizing access to education, specifically in the field of foreign language acquisition. Her current research is mainly focused on metacognitive processes.
Her work has been published in the annual journal of the School of Spanish Literature of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, "Doblele", as well as in "Forlingua", the journal of Alcalingua (Alcalá de Henares University, Spain).
