What are Dual Degree Programmes?

JIBS offers a range of international opportunities to facilitate personal growth, global networking and cultural immersion – key ingredients for the contemporary job market. Dual Degree Programmes [2 degrees in 2 years] allow students at JIBS to earn degrees from both JGU and a partner institution, giving them a competitive edge in the global job market. The students are required to complete Year 1 of their degree at JGU (M.A/M.Sc. Applied Psychology) and in Year 2, they can undertake their degree (2nd degree) at a partner institute.

Who can apply for these programmes?

The Dual Degree Programmes are applicable only for students of M.A./M.Sc. Applied Psychology (MAAP) in accordance with their course structure which allows the students to complete their 1st year at JGU and their 2nd year at a partner institution. A maximum of 2 seats in each Programme is for JIBS students.
Students who have successfully completed all components of the Year 1 M.A./M.Sc. Applied Psychology (MAAP) and meet the eligibility criteria (given below) and entry requirements of the partner institution, may apply for a place in these programmes.

Eligibility Criteria for Dual Degree Programmes
  • Only students in the first year of M.A./M.Sc. Applied Psychology (MAAP) are eligible to apply, having attained a minimum CGPA of 4.5 in the first semester. (Some Partner Universities would set additional criteria that may be specific to their particular University)
  • Students are ineligible to apply if they have any uncleared courses (both core and cross electives) or have faced disciplinary actions. This also applies to students who have been debarred due to insufficient attendance below the prerequisite percentage.
  • Eligibility is also, subject to clearance from Code of Conduct regulations under COGSASH (Committee on Gender Sensitization Against Sexual Harassment), UMC (Unfair Means Case), Uncleared Papers and the USDC (University Student Disciplinary Committee)
  • This eligibility criteria will be applied to both the first and second semesters (even though the application process may begin earlier)
  • All students would have to give a parental undertaking
  • All eligible cases would be screened before final selection.
  • Eligibility does not guarantee admission, all factors during the selection process would be taken into consideration.
What are the admission prerequisites and entry requirements of the programmes?

Other than the successful completion of Year 1 of M.A./M.Sc. Applied Psychology (MAAP), with a minimum academic grade/percentage demarcated by the partner institution, they also reserve the right to reject any student in accordance with their academic regulations and policies relating to admissions, including English language proficiency requirements. Entry Requirement includes satisfaction of standard English language proficiency including IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 5.5 or as prescribed by the partner institution.
