This session was conducted by the student executives of the Center for Community Mental Health at JIBS, under the guidance of JIBS faculty. Through captivating presentations and real-life anecdotes, 85 enthusiastic students Swarnaprastha Public School (Sonipat) were sensitized to the nuances of peer pressure and its impact on mental well-being. The session culminated in empowering discussions on coping strategies and resources. Notably, pre-session and post-session questionnaires revealed a remarkable 7.1% increase in their mental health awareness levels.
JIBS students have been playing a key role in promoting and accepting diversity and fostering inclusivity. Following this ideal, they learnt the National Anthem of India and English alphabets in Indian Sign Language and performed in the presence of specially abled children of Little Angels Inclusive School and Sanfort Special School, Sonipat. Further, with a view to spread the awareness among the wider student community, a poster having the caption “Let’s Talk in Signs” having alphabets of Indian Sign Language were displayed around JGU campus.
This campaign was conducted by JIBS students under the able guidance of their faculty team at Sanfort Special School, Sonipat. This session aimed at empowering specially abled children by equipping them with the skills needed to differentiate between good and bad touch. The session concluded with a video and role-play that empowered children to vocalize their feelings and be assertive in potentially harmful situations. This campaign was a significant milestone in JIBS’ continuous efforts to create a safer environment for our children.
JIBS students, under the supervision of their faculty members, helped participants of Bright Scholar Senior Secondary School (Sonipat) uncover the meaning and nature of stress and anxiety, stress and anxiety related symptoms and strategies for stress and anxiety management. Through games, art, and expressions, the vision was to promote mental well-being, spread awareness, and share coping strategies. This interactive session helped participants gain insight into guided meditation, positive self-talk and affirmations, journaling and self-care.
Diving into understanding and realizing mental well-being for all, students of JIBS celebrated World Mental Health Day 2023 alongside the resilient female domestic workers of Swabhiman Kendra, Panipat. Together, they orchestrated a meaningful Mental Health well-being program, hosted at the heart of compassion in the community centre run by Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) and the Marthawell Foundation.
JIBS student and faculty visited the Azadpur Youth Centre to raise mental health awareness among children from economically weaker sections of society - ahead of World Mental Health Day 2023. Through movement, art, and meditation, the aim was to spread mindfulness, well-being and emphasize the importance of mental health for all.
