Shraddha Chaudhary

Currently on long-leave from JGLS, Shraddha is pursuing her Ph.D. in law from the University of Cambridge, where her research is oriented towards the study of the law on statutory rape.

She has conducted a seminar course on the “Principles of Indian Family law”, served as a Teaching Assistant for History II, and independently conducted a credit course on “Sexual Offences and the Patriarchy of the Law”, at National Law School of India University (NLSIU). She has worked as a Research Assistant (Legal) in the Child Protection team at the Centre for Child and the Law, NLSIU.

While she is broadly interested in criminal law, her core areas of interest are the intersection between gender and the law (particularly in criminal and family laws), principles of family law, theories of criminalisation, philosophy of criminal law, child protection, and feminist legal theory
