He graduated with B.A.LL.B. (Hon.) at the top of his class at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2017 with 13 gold medals. He completed his master’s degree (BCL) at the University of Oxford, where he specialized in International Law.
Since his graduation from Oxford, he has taught courses pertaining to Public International Law, Environmental Law, International Climate Change Law, International Law, and Armed Conflict and Theoretical approaches to International Law at NALSAR, where he has worked as an Assistant Professor, and at National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, where he is a visiting faculty.
He has also previously worked at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and ITC Limited, where he dealt with matters pertaining to Insolvency Law and IPR respectively. His research interests include International Law, climate change, global administrative law, state responsibility, and the law of armed conflicts.

- Rahul Mohanty specializes in public international law and writes on international institutions, international courts, climate change, and critical approaches to international law, among others. He teaches several courses, including electives on International Law and Settlement of Disputes and International Financial Institutions.
- He is a Fellow at the Centre for International Legal Studies of the University, which works to promote research in international law. He is also an Assistant Editor of the Jindal Global Law Review, which is the flagship law journal of the Jindal Global Law School (Scopus-indexed). He is a member of the World Commission on Environmental law, set up by the International Union on Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
- He previously worked full-time at NALSAR University of Law, as an Assistant Professor of Law (2021-2022). He has taught courses such as international law, international law and armed conflict, international climate change law, and environmental law at NALSAR.
- He is a guest faculty at National Law School of India University (NLSIU), and has taught courses such as International law and armed conflicts, and Theoretical Approaches to International Law.
- He graduated with B.A.LL.B. (Hon.) at the top of his class at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad with 13 gold medals. He completed his master’s degree (BCL) at the University of Oxford, where he specialized in International Law. He was a recipient of the HSA Advocates scholarship at the University of Oxford.
