Professor Sara Acevedo Garzón serves as professor of Law at JGLS. She holds esteemed Master of Law degrees from The Pennsylvania State University. Her foundational legal education was acquired at Universidad Icesi in Colombia, her nation of origin. Her professional background encompasses substantial expertise in the realm of research pertaining to international standards established by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Moreover, she has actively participated in international competitions focused on human rights, contributing to the preparation of recommendation briefs for cases under examination by the Constitutional Court of Colombia. Professor Sara Acevedo has also collaborated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), thereby furnishing legal support to migrants while engaging in collaborative endeavors linked to the organization’s investigative pursuits.
