Prof. Meghmala completed her B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law University Odisha (NLUO, Cuttack) in 2018 with seven gold medals in various subjects. She was awarded the HSA Advocates Scholarship by the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development and Somerville College for reading the BCL from the University of Oxford in 2022-2023. During her BCL, she focused on building more on her interests in corporate law. Her focus is on Indian corporate governance and the role of venture capitalism in promoting Indian start-ups.
Prior to the BCL and joining Jindal, she qualified to practice law with the Delhi Bar Council and worked as a corporate lawyer for four years with some of India’s premier law firms, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, general corporate laws, mining laws and pharmaceutical laws. She advised clients in both domestic and cross-border transactions across sectors and has also advised a range of start-ups in their investments and day to day legal matters.
Apart from her practice, she has also been a resource person on the Workshop on Scholarship for Indian Students at the University of Oxford, convened by Project EduAccess and the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development; and on the Seminar on Corporate Legal Research and its Impact on Upcoming Graduates, convened by the Journal and Seminar Committee, Department of Law, University of Calcutta.
