Deepabali is a legal professional with over six years of extensive experience in the legal field. She holds an Advanced LL.M. degree in International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration from Universiteit Leiden, graduating Cum Laude in 2024. Her master thesis focused on provisional measures in investment arbitration. During her time at Leiden, she also served as Student Representative of the program and an Assistant Editor for the Leiden Journal of International Law, contributing to one of the world’s leading academic journals in international law.
Deepabali completed her B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) from Amity University, Noida in 2017 and began her legal career with Khaitan & Co., one of India’s leading law firms, where she spent 4.5 years as an Associate and a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team. She handled a broad spectrum of commercial arbitration matters —both ad hoc and institutional—as well as contractual disputes, civil and commercial litigations before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and Tribunals across the country. Her main interests include commercial arbitration (both domestic and international) and international investment arbitration.
Subsequently, she gained two years of valuable experience working with Mr. Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General of India and served as a Panel A Counsel for the Union of India before the Supreme Court. This role involved handling high-stakes cases of national significance, representing various governmental agencies such as CBI, ED, SFIO, NCB and Ministries, further honing her expertise in litigation and public law.
