Dr. Olayinka Ojo had his LL.B from Ekiti state University (formerly called the University of Ado Ekiti) and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he graduated with a first-class- the first student to have a first-class in the Nigerian Law School from his University. For his post graduate education, he studied for his LL.M in Environmental Law and Human Rights at Charles University Prague, Czech Republic and doctorate degree from Ghent University, Belgium. His research interests are environmental law, human rights, energy law, constitutional law, public international law and business law.

For his legal practice, he has garnered national and international experience in the past 10 years starting with being a Partner at Banjo Ayenakin and Co where he represented clients on several legal matters in and out of courts in the area of labor law, electoral law, sports law, environmental law, land law, civil law, and criminal law. He has acted as a legal adviser for several companies and also served as the chief legal officer for Evnoia Group in the Czech Republic. The public sector has also had a good part of skills as he served on several National and Regional committees in Nigeria, such as the committee that reviewed the Ondo State Audit Bill in 2011, the committee set up to restructure the Ondo State Football Agency in 2013, the committee set up by Nigerian government to review the National Youth Service Corp in 2011. Also, he berthed his academic career at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, and then the National Open University of Nigeria and Achievers University, Owo. He is the founding partner of several institutions such as Halcyon Group, Evnoia Group, African Centre for Human Empowerment, Signet Ring Consultancy and Alchemy consult.

His organization the African Centre for Human Empowerment has been working on a project tagged “Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Integration Project” with technical support from The Department for International Development (DFID) UK. He has done considerable works in the area of human rights, particularly in the area of the criminal justice system, mostly by offering free legal services to awaiting trial persons; and publishing of articles on human rights issues and good governance. He is committed towards capacity building in the areas of good governance, environmental democracy, human rights empowerment, legal education, leadership training and skills-building which help young leaders to accelerate their own career trajectories and contribute more robustly to strengthening democratic institutions, spurring economic growth, and enhancing peace and security across the globe.

He has attended and organized several international trainings, summits and conferences in Europe, Canada and the United States. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, The Institute of Chartered Portfolio Management of Nigeria and The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.

Dr Olayinka Ojo is a recipient of several national and international awards.
