Biography

Dr. Swathysree has completed her Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Before joining the PhD programme, she has worked with HSBC as a risk analyst for two years. She holds an Integrated Masters degree in Economics from the University of Hyderabad and is a recipient of the University Gold Medal for securing the first rank.

Her doctoral thesis explores the evolution of India’s capital goods sector from the standpoint of technological capabilities and the role of the state on the one hand and international integration on the other in shaping that trajectory. Her research interests include Economic Growth and Development, Industrial and Trade Policy, Role of State, International Trade, Global Value Chains, and Technological Change and Innovation.
