Dr. Himanshi Rajora is a doctoral scholar at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in Organisational Behaviour. Her thesis focuses on meaningfulness of work under multilevel identity interactions. Her methodological interest lies in the qualitative research tradition following interpretivism, mostly involving grounded theory and critical hermeneutics analysis. Before joining the doctoral programme, she completed her MBA from Uttar Pradesh Technical University during which she received merit scholarship for her academic excellence. She was also awarded the UGC-NET JRF scholarship in management in 2013.

Himanshi has worked with industry as well as academia wherein she served as a faculty in institutes under Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) for three years. During her stint as a faculty, she was also appointed as the youngest member of the Board for Studies of Industrial Psychology at Mahamaya Technical University, Noida. Himanshi has also been actively involved as a member of various social initiatives like setting up of vocational center for women; capacity building of war widows; ‘Project Prerna’ to render emotional support to cancer patients; ‘training the trainer’ initiative for teachers of differently-abled children at Asha school.

Himanshi has presented her research papers at reputed international and national conferences like Academy of Management Consortium at Chicago, annual meeting of the Southern Management Association at Lexington etc. She has also published book chapter and research papers in peer reviewed journals. She has handled a spectrum of projects for government agencies like competency mapping for Hindustan Petroleum; organisational development and resource management for canteen stores department (CSD); and HR policies review for leather clusters of Kolkata. Her current areas of interest include impression management in organisation, work-life balance, meaningfulness of work & careers, and multiple identities at work.
