Dr. Sanlap Acharya

Prof. Sanlap Acharya has completed his Ph.D. in Management in Information Systems from Indian Institute of Management, Indore. Prior to this, he completed his B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Technology (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology).

His doctoral dissertation focuses on the topic of Music Information Retrieval and studies the impact of various internal and external factors that impact music popularity. His research and teaching interests include data mining, social network analysis, e-commerce, business analytics, machine learning and so on.

Prof. Acharya has presented papers in various national conferences such as INDAM and CERE, and also in international conferences like INFORMS Annual Meeting. Recently, he has co-authored and published a book chapter titled “Application of Machine Learning Algorithms in Stock Market Prediction: A Comparative Analysis” in the book titled “Handbook of Research on Smart Technology Models for Business and Industry” which has been published by IGI Global.
