Karan Babbar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Science and Humanities at Jindal Global Business School. He earned his PhD in Innovation and Management in Education from the Ravi J Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation (RJMCEI) at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s in Technology in Computer Science Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University.

As a quantitative researcher, Karan specializes in employing econometric and psychometric modeling techniques. His research primarily explores the intersection of education and health, with a specific focus on gender-related issues. His areas of expertise encompass Empirical Development Economics, Economics of Health, Economics of Gender, and Health Economics. His ongoing projects delve into critical topics such as Menstrual Health and Hygiene, Women’s Empowerment, LGBTQ Issues, Health and sanitation, and Political Economy and development.

Karan has been recognized for his contributions with the SPJIMR-DoCC Regunath Research Fellowship. As a co-investigator with Prof. Pritha Dev from IIM Ahmedabad, he conducted a Women’s Safety Audit in Faridabad, sponsored by the National Commission of Women.
