Scholarship Production

Scholarship Production

Two scholarship projects were conceived and carried under the Centre’s own auspices this year.
In each, the Centre set the question and convened the scholarship that answers it.

A. Journal Issue

PRINCIPAL ACADEMIC UNDERTAKING OF THE YEAR

Special Issue of the Jindal Global Law Review on Artificial Intelligence and Law

The Centre is convening a special issue of the Jindal Global Law Review on artificial intelligence and law, to be published by Springer. We invited contributions from academia, practice and industry across jurisdictions. While the Centre’s other research enters debates convened elsewhere, the special issue determines which questions are asked and how scholarship answers them.

B. AI Governance Report 2026: Reimagining Education for a New Era

The University released its inaugural AI Governance Report, co-produced by the Office of Rankings, Benchmarking and Institutional Transformation (ORBIT) and the Centre. ORBIT led the report under Prof. Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean of Academic Governance, with the Centre’s support.

The report gives a comprehensive account of the University’s evolving engagement with artificial intelligence, documenting it as a structured and reflective institutional effort rather than a set of scattered experiments. It sets out the University’s approach to responsible AI integration across four domains of teaching, research, administration, and governance. It also positions the Centre as a foundational driver of that strategy.

The Report was released by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Mumbai, 28 April 2026
