Refund Policy

Office of Admissions and Outreach – Refund Policy (Academic Year 2022-23)

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is an Institution of Eminence (IoE) notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The University Fee Refund Policy governs the withdrawal and refund of fees to any student as per rules prescribed by the University.

  1. The formally notified last date of admission for academic year 2022-23 is 10th September 2022. The classes will commence from Monday, 12th September 2022.                                                                                                                 
  2. The classes for Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) will commence from 16 August, 2022. For further details on Refund, click the link  (Download JSAA Refund Policy)                                                                                                         
  3. The Refund of Registration Fee (For Residential Programs) deposited by candidates shall be done strictly as per the five-tier system as follows for UG/PG programmes offered by the respective Schools/ Institute (s) viz Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA); Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP); Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH)*; Jindal School of Journalism & Communication (JSJC); Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF); Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES); Jindal School of Psychology and Counselling (JSPC); Jindal School of Languages and Literature (JSLL); Jindal School of Public Health and Human Development (JSPH); Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) and UG Programmes Offered by the Jindal Global Business School (JGBS).

4. For Online Programs with Coursera, The Registration fee is 100% refundable, till 20 days from the start of the batch, i.e. for Fall Semester, It is fully refundable by 20th September and for spring semester, it is fully refundable by 20th March.

Exception Handling

In exceptional circumstances, JGU may admit students after the formally notified last date of admission. In such cases, the benefit will be given to such student. The formally notified last date of admission for such students shall be the individual date on which they have been admitted.

Procedure for Seeking a Refund

  1. All initial request for refunds must be received by the Office of Admissions and Outreach no later than 5 p.m. on the last deadline in each tier to be processed within that tier.
  2. To apply for a refund, candidates must send a request to their respective admission counsellor and refunds@jgu.edu.in. This request will be treated as a notice of withdrawal and the quantum of refund will be calculated as per the table above. Please include your name, programme, and application number in all communications.
  3. Applicants for refunds may undergo an exit interview with a member of the Admissions Team prior to their application being processed. This interview is primarily for informational purposes and will in no way impact the status of the refund request unless the applicant rescinds the refund request themselves.
  4. Any grievance regarding refunds under this policy must be sent to ‘JGU Finance’ (finance@jgu.edu.in)
  5. For Online programs with Coursera, candidates must send all refund related request to online@jgu.edu.in.
 

*Post Graduate Diploma in Research and Innovation (PGDRI) offered by Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities will commence from 1st of August.

** Aggregate Fee includes course fees and non-tuition fees and does not include caution money and security deposit. Caution money and security deposit will be refunded in full irrespective of the date on which notice of withdrawal is received.
