Description
Prof. Divyangana Dhankar, Prof. Simran Bhinder and Prof. Shaun Star of the Jindal Global Law School received a grant from the Government of Australia through the Australian Consulate General, Chennai for their project titled “Promoting Women in Leadership: Diversity on Boards in Australia and India”.
The Project aimed to create awareness about the new challenges to ‘diversity and inclusion’. It sought to build people-to-people and institutional ties through a network of women leaders focused on priority sectors (sports and infrastructure). It hosted webinars, roundtable conferences, and developed a white paper through research to identify steps for corporations in both countries to improve gender representation in corporate governance. The project also intended to develop a course in “Diversity and Corporate Governance” for Indian institutions harnessing Australia’s state-of-the art technical and educational expertise. About 20 partners across both countries were involved in the implementation of this project.
