Balancing Teaching and Research: We recognize the importance of balancing teaching responsibilities with faculty members’ research aspirations. To facilitate this, we ensure that the teaching workload is appropriately managed, allowing our faculty to dedicate ample time and energy to their research endeavors.

Supporting Faculty Participation in Conferences: The University’s Staff Development Policy empowers faculty members to engage in national and international conferences for presenting their research findings. By providing such opportunities, we foster academic exchange and collaboration on a global scale.

Research Centers as Hubs for Collaborative Research: JGU’s research centers offer focused domains for faculty members to pursue their research interests while also facilitating collaborations with scholars from India and around the world. These centers act as hubs that bring together diverse researchers to participate in impactful collaborative projects.

Research Grants and Incentives: Through the Research Grants Committee, faculty members are awarded research grants to pursue individual research projects. Additionally, we incentivize faculty research and publications through a range of policies.

Enhanced Collaboration and Impact: Our commitment to faculty research extends beyond JGU’s institutional boundaries. Faculty members, research centers, and institutes collaborate with external agencies and organizations on various research projects and consultancies, expanding the reach and impact of their work.

Preserving Academic Freedom: JGU remains steadfast in preserving institutional autonomy and academic freedom. We provide an environment that safeguards the intellectual independence of our professors, researchers, and students, allowing them to pursue knowledge and express ideas without interference.

At Jindal Global University (JGU), our raison d’être is our students. We adopt a student-centered approach to learning.

We actively encourage experiential learning to develop the skills and attributes necessary for our students to thrive in their careers and become global citizens. Student research is an integral part of our educational philosophy, where faculty research and student projects intertwine to foster an environment of knowledge creation and exchange.

Promoting Research Skills in the Curriculum: JGU offers specific courses designed to cultivate research skills among students. These courses play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of researchers who can contribute to society through their academic pursuits.

Blurring the Lines between Teaching and Research: Active researchers among our faculty members bring their cutting-edge research findings into the classroom, enriching the learning experience of students. In turn, students’ research projects and community engagement work generate new areas for research, creating a symbiotic relationship where teaching informs research and vice versa.

Interdisciplinary Research Opportunities: Cross-registration of courses across schools emphasizes our commitment to providing interdisciplinary research opportunities and academic experiences for our undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our research centers and groups are designed as interdisciplinary clusters, providing students with opportunities to support and be mentored through ongoing faculty and group-based research projects.

Support for Student Research: JGU actively promotes student research through the Research Grants Policy, allowing students to undertake research assistantships on faculty projects. Additionally, 20% of the annual research budget is earmarked to support student research projects.

Student Research Colloquiums: JGU hosts annual student research colloquiums funded by the University. These colloquiums have proven to be instrumental in enhancing student research interests and capacities. The events facilitate the sharing of research experiences and peer-to-peer learning, providing a platform for students from across India to present their original research papers before faculty experts.

Coase Brief Competition (CBC): The CBC, organized by the student-run Management Council, is an interdisciplinary competition celebrating the scholarship of economist and author Ronald H. Coase. It encourages contestants to present solutions to hypothetical problems beyond their respective academic disciplines, engaging students from schools across India and the world in interdisciplinary analysis and research.

Community Peace and Social Recovery Fellowship Programme (CPSRFP):
CPSRFP is a unique field-based academic programme offered by the Jindal School of International Affairs. It trains students in disaster relief operations, exploring the linkages between disaster response, development, and peacebuilding. The fellowship allows students to contribute to actual implementation and create innovative frameworks for evidence-based early recovery programming.

Clinical Programmes:
JGU’s Clinical Programmes, run by the Jindal Global Law School, promote social justice through citizen participation. These programmes engage students in practical experiences to understand the realities of law, build rapport with communities, and address issues such as legal aid, education, health, and social security.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Research:
JGU’s undergraduate programmes integrate research components into the curriculum, encouraging critical thinking, research paper drafting, and the presentation of publishable quality papers. Postgraduate students receive practical experience through research internships and projects, fostering their research capabilities and preparing them for dissertation work.

Preparing Future Scholars:
Mandatory dissertation work and pre-dissertation workshops help postgraduate students develop essential research skills. Our English Language Centre supports students with courses in English, Writing Skills, and Business Communication, facilitating their success in research endeavors and beyond.
