Description | The EU-VALUES project, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, is a ground-breaking initiative aimed at strengthening the external legitimacy of the European Union (EU) as a force for good in the global arena of contestation. With a focus on foreign policy issues, particularly values and democracy, this extensive network involves 21 leading higher education institutions from Europe and across the globe. Over the course of 36 months, the EU-VALUES initiative will engage nearly 100 academic experts, including Prof. (Dr.) Ramin Jahanbegloo, Professor and Vice Dean at Jindal Global Law School, and Executive Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies, along with Rahul Desarda, Assistant Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School and Assistant Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies. O.P Jindal Global University is the only Indian institution that is part of this project. The primary goal of EU-VALUES is to generate and disseminate new knowledge on the intersection of EU foreign policy with the promotion of democracy and EU values. By implementing an innovative project structure divided into 7 work packages, EU-VALUES aims to foster dialogue, enhance understanding, and contribute to the development of policies related to security, development, trade, climate, and sustainable development goals within the EU's foreign policy framework. The project emphasizes peer review, expert surveys, reflection papers, and hosting two-day network conferences in various global locations to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive academic output. Furthermore, the project plans to utilize a high-quality website, an electronic newsletter featuring cutting-edge research, databases, interactive tools, webinars, and a video series to reach a wider audience. |
