Description	Prof. Ishana Tripathi, Assistant Professor, JGLS received a grant of INR 3,00,000 from BTG Legal, a Mumbai based law firm for her research project titled “Corporate Governance Project”. The project entailed an analysis of the existing corporate governance structure in India, which is a mix of mandatory and voluntary requirements, and argued that while India employs stricter corporate governance measures than most jurisdictions, the implementation and related sanctions have seen several large value multiple stakeholder lapses. This results in a need to reassess the viability and efficacy of the existing framework. The project sought to analyse ten identified key cases and their impact within the existing corporate governance measures. It analysed whether a causal link could be identified in cases of corporate governance leading to insolvency and finally, suggested policy recommendations to modify the existing corporate governance framework on the basis of the research and analysis conducted.
