Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar Kaushik was a student of the European Doctorate in Law and Economics program from October 2011 until March 2015. He received his PHD from three universities (joint degree): Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands, University of Bologna, Italy and University of Hamburg, Germany. He obtained his B.A degree in Business Economics from University of Delhi in 2007. He completed his M. A degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi in 2009 and an M. Phil degree in Development Economics from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai in 2011.

His primary research areas are intellectual property, applied microeconomic theory and political economy. He has presented his research at various important international conferences, including European Association of Law and Economics (2014) conference, Korean American Economic Association, Asian Law and Economics Conference. He has published in journals like Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, International Review of Law and Economics, Journal of Comparative Asian Development and Economic & Political Weekly. During his PhD, he examined the issues related to Trade Secrecy, sometimes called an ignored facet of intellectual property law. He has co-authored a book on Indian elections, titled, “Who moved my vote?”, published by Westland Publications in 2022.
