Name of the presenter: Dr. Divya Dubey
Title of the paper: Emotional Intelligence and Positive Life Orientation among Gujarat and Maharashtra Adolescents.
Abstract:
Purpose: This study investigates Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Positive Life Orientation (PLO) among adolescents in Gujarat and Maharashtra, India. It aims to determine regional disparities and gender impacts on Emotional Intelligence and Positive Life Orientation development, while also establishing a connection between these two traits.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Employing an ex post facto design, data was collected from 740 adolescents (bifurcated according to gender) from Gujarat and Maharashtra. Reliable and Validated tools were used to assess their Emotional Intelligence and Positive Life Orientation.
Findings: Maharashtra's adolescents display higher Emotional Intelligence levels than Gujarat's, and a positive correlation exists between elevated Emotional Intelligence and a more Positive Life Orientation.
Social Implications: Identifying regional and gender-based trends informs tailored interventions for emotional well-being among Gujarat and Maharashtra adolescents. The Emotional Intelligence-Positive Life Orientation connection highlights the value of nurturing Emotional Intelligence skills, fostering resilience and optimism.
Originality/Value: This study adds to knowledge by examining Emotional Intelligence and Positive Life Orientation. Outcomes emphasize Emotional Intelligence role in shaping attitudes, impacting self-perception, academics, and mental well-being. The research underscores Emotional Intelligence significance in cultivating a positive life approach, with broader applicability.

Bio of the Speaker:
Dr. Divya Dubey has completed her Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology from Amity University, Lucknow Campus. She holds a master's degree in clinical and organizational Psychology and has specialized training in Forensic Psychology from NFSU, Gandhinagar. Her expertise includes deception detection using tools like Polygraphs, Layered Voice Analysis, Brain Electrical Oscillation Signature Profiling (BEOS), and Suspect Detection System (SDS).
Dr. Dubey has a professional Diploma in Criminal Profiling and Crime Scene Analysis from The Forensic Criminology Institute, Alaska, United States, and earned a Diplomat Status in Criminal Profiling from the International Association of Forensic Criminologists (IAFC). She also has a license in operating Layered Voice Analysis (LVA 6.50), Professional Investigation Focus Tool from Nemesysco, Israel.
Dr. Dubey has worked as a counselor in Indian prisons, a project assistant at IIT Gandhinagar, and a consultant at a Dubai cybersecurity firm where she was responsible for imparting training and lectures on LVA 6.50 to Government and Private entities, including Dubai Police and Ministry of Defence, Abu Dhabi. She was invited as a subject expert on Zee Hindustan in the capacity of a Forensic Psychologist to discuss Psychological Autopsy in Sushant Singh's death case.
Teaching Experience: Dr. Divya Dubey has taught Postgraduate students at Amity University, Dubai, in courses like Forensic Psychology, Psychology in Law, Personality Theories, and Physiological Psychology. She is a sought-after expert, having spoken at both national and international events and trained students and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Her work includes presentations at various International and National conferences and published research papers in Scopus-indexed journals.
