Biography

Indupriya is a clinical psychologist who qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lectureship and is currently a lecturer at the Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS). Her research interests include profiling and rehabilitation for various neurological and psychiatric conditions, individual psychotherapies, complex trauma, positive supervision, and adolescent and community mental health.

Clinical Experience

Indupriya has two years of extensive clinical training in psychometric testing and psychotherapies from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bengaluru (NIMHANS). She began her career as a Clinical Psychologist at the Vydehi Institute of Medical College and Research Center (VIMS & RC). There, she performed psychological assessments and provided evidence-based therapies for a diverse range of patients. She worked closely with occupational and speech therapists and contributed to an early intervention team for children with special needs. Subsequently, she took on the role of a Neuropsychologist at the Cognition & Behavioral Neurology Section (CBNS) of the Department of Neurology at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology (SCTIMST). She specialized in evaluating and managing cognitive and behavioral aspects of neurological disorders, particularly Alzheimer’s disease, working closely with the neurology team to provide comprehensive patient care. Most recently, she served as a Clinical Psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), where she conducted neuropsychological assessments and interventions for various neurological and psychiatric disorders and participated in weekly epilepsy meetings. Additionally, she supervised MPhil trainees in assessing and managing neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry cases.

Research Experience

Indupriya was part of the UQ-IIT D Academy of Research joint PhD program, collaborating with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Delhi and the Center for Advanced Imaging (CAI) at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her PhD research focuses on understanding cognitive-affective processes in patients with refractory epilepsy, with data collection conducted at AIIMS Delhi.

Her MPhil dissertation from NIMHANS focused on neuropsychology, specifically on exploring creativity and cognitive function in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Additionally, she completed a two-week course on developmental cognitive neuroscience focused on clinical research at the Center for Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad. At IIT Delhi, she has collaborated on projects under supervision, including research on cognitive sex differences and road traffic accidents with Mercedes-Benz Daimler and health and awareness initiatives funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through the Department of Management Studies.

Indupriya has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and has been a resource person for various workshops and webinars. She received the Best Paper Award twice at the National Annual Conference of Clinical Psychology (NAIACP). She was the first runner-up in the 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) competition conducted by IIT-Delhi & University of Queensland.

She has previously worked as a lecturer at the Vydehi Institute of Medical College and Research Center (VIMS & RC) and the Department of Psychology at Government College for Women in Vazhuthakadu, Trivandrum. Additionally, she served as a teaching assistant for the HUL 261 course at IIT Delhi from January 2020 to June 2020.
