Biography

Dr. Shankey Verma is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in academia, research, and consultancy within the field of criminology and allied areas. He pursued his Ph.D. from the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana. He is a former Prison Welfare Officer at the Department of Social Welfare, Government of NCT of Delhi, who has worked with Tihar Prisons, Asia’s largest prison complex, for the effective reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of prisoners. He has specialization in working with the high risk offenders, including gangsters and terrorists, and female prisoners. He has worked in various capacities, such as, Assistant Professor, Welfare Officer, Adjunct Faculty, Junior Research Officer and Research Analyst. He has published several research papers in reputed journals in the areas of intimate partner violence, mental health, psychometrics, and terrorism, and has worked on various projects. He has also acquired certifications in areas such as anti-corruption and anti-money laundering compliance.
